It was late one night, about 3am on Kwenn though the starship was just outside of the Orbit Station. The Fury was completely silent as its occupants were all sound asleep, except for one. Kirian arose from her slumber distraught at the dream she had. It was already beginning to fade but the emotion was left lingering as she turned her head to look down at Everic sound asleep. She did not want to disturb his sleep with her petty nightmares, considering how upset he was earlier, she was glad that he was able to fall asleep without problems. Kirian's dreams had been invaded by a new voice this time, it wasn't even really a voice.. it was more like the sound of wind chimes, but the sounds never ceased. They were calming but definite in their message and eerily, they put words in Kirian's ears as if they were actually being spoken. They were not like the other voices she had heard before, these voices were trying to calm her but they were quickly snuffed out by the approach of a smokey mist seeming to envelope everything from the ground below to the blue sky above. Kirian had awaken just as the last spot of the sky was almost consumed.
"Another voice.." she whispered to herself as she smoothed her silky scarlet hair away from her face and looped it into a bun behind her head despite knowing it wouldn't stay that way until morning. Her hair was getting longer due to her hormones, she had french braided it back loosely but their earlier wild love making made it come loose. Kirian reached to the night stand and opened a small piece of Nar Shaddaa cocoa-chocolate candy, popping it into her mouth. Her nausea quickly went away, as it seemed the baby loved sweet things. Kirian smiled with her eyes closed as she slowly sucked and chewed the candy until it was gone. She was thinking about the days events as she opened a second single piece of candy.
Kirian was remembering the look on Everic's face when he confronted Sair, it made her both proud and worried at the same time. Proud that the father of her child cared about them so much as to speak out to a Sith, but worried that if it had been the wrong Sith, what might have happened. Sair was the least of her problems. She was beginning to fear Angul and his power. Kirian always saw Everic as a strong and independent man, but when he would talk of Angul, Kirian could see the hope fleeting from Everic's eyes as he spoke. For a moment, she began to feel completely hopeless as well until she placed both her hands on her belly, feeling their little one growing inside her.
Kirian smirked as she felt something within the force again, a small connection to the baby she was carrying which was about the size of a lemon now at 3 months. Every so often the baby would move its hands, feet or head but the movements were only barely noticeable to Kiri as a tiny flutter, not enough to feel from the outside of her tummy. More features were beginning to become recognizable and the baby was beginning to fancy certain foods.
She smiled softly, knowing at least that their child was getting good medical care from Everic's expertise. Kirian began to feel hope coming back into her heart, just from feeling the tiny flutter of the life growing inside of her. She laid back down, close to Everic as she curled against his body for warmth, pulling the blankets back up and over them as it was usually chilly. She closed her eyes and listened to his heartbeat as it always brought her back to her calm place. The thoughts swirling in her mind ranged from Angul, to how she would make money now that she couldn't do missions anymore, to what she was going to do about Sair and his attitude towards Everic. She smirked a little, keeping her eyes closed as she thought that situation over. There was no way she would ever let anyone, let alone Sair, hurt Everic.
She couldn't believe he even had the nerve to speak towards Everic as if Sair had never been out of turn. "Tsk... " she whispered, then peeked an eye open to make sure she didn't wake Everic as her thoughts almost were spoken aloud. Kirian knew that Sair still liked to take advantage of the fact he was a Sith, while at the same time not following Sith rules since he'd been Revanite. He'd married a Jedi and then had the nerve to talk down towards Everic as if he were still a true Sith. "He can't have it both ways" Kirian thought to herself. She planned to speak with Sair again the next time they had privacy. Kirian found herself more and more upset as she thought about how she had asked Everic to help with the search for Sair because it was too dangerous for her.
The fact that he went in her stead to help search seemed to not even graze Sair, but she was hoping that Eirwynn could sway the old fart into at least playing nice. If not, Kirian knew her last option would be to never go near Pax again. She didn't want it to come to that, but if she had to choose between Sair, the man who saved her life and was her former master, or Everic, the man who holds her heart, the love of her life and the father of her child, and also whom has also saved her life or numerous occasions, she would choose Everic faster than a heartbeat.
A few tears escaped her eyes as she thought about Sair's words towards Everic. She quickly wiped them away before they were able to wet Everic's chest. It made her both sad and angry that she had went through sorting out her feelings to accept Eirwynn, a Jedi.. as she tried to follow in the path of balance but Sair, in his old stubborn ways would treat Everic as some sort of Imperial Minion. She knew she had not helped it much but that was what they all had to do in the eyes of the Empire, especially in the eyes of other Sith but no other Sith had been around that day on Kwenn, yet Sair was still being a pompous ass. She drew a deep breath in as she felt herself getting too upset. She wouldn't be able to sleep if she kept working herself up so she tried to quiet her mind. She craned her neck again, still resting her cheek against his chest. She was beginning to wonder about what he had said about her being more woman than he'd ever been with.. and becoming the mother of his child and some day his wife.
"Kirian Martin" she said softly, with a warm rosey color gracing her cheeks at the mere thought. Her heart was beating quickly as she whispered it softly aloud. "Kirian X Martin.." she said, then whispered to herself questioningly about if she should drop the X or to hyphenate it with Martin. She was giggling a little at first, enjoying the pure joys of being in love and feeling as if her heart would burst from feeling so much in love. "I shouldn't get too ahead of myself, by the time we finish growing this baby, I may have annoyed him into changing his mind.. " she pouted playfully as all these thoughts ran through her mind. It did make her happy for a moment until she began to think again, much deeper.
It was far too soon for her to start having her wishes come true of being in a happy family with Everic, the child and herself. She knew there was a looming catastrophy building up, and it was probably just around the corner. She was afraid of what might would happen to Everic if they married. At first, she had thought a Sith and a Jedi secret marriage was dangerous enough, and that her and Everic had a better chance of being happy together but then she thought about Angul. Just her and Everic's feelings had gotten out enough for Angul to kidnap and torture Everic, what would he do if they tried to be happy and get married, for all she knew, he was plotting on stealing their baby. She felt her eyes beginning to water again but she forced it back, deciding to clear her mind and try not to think of any of it. It seemed like every happy thought she had would last for a moment before another "imminent danger thought" would be fast on its heels, trying to crush it pieces.
She was beginning to believe Everic's words but in a different light as she began to get overwhelmed with the amount of situations piling onto their shoulders. "We do have happy moments."she thought to herself.
They did have happy moments, though very rare and fleeting but always pursued by a unending omnious darkness reaching to squeeze every drop of happiness from them permanently. Kirian began to slowly fall back asleep, the last thought on her mind was Everic and their unborn baby.
